I just recently bought my first two zoanthid colonies and one of the rocks that I purchased half of the rock ended up being eagle eyes and the other half look just like the eagle eyes but have bright green skirts instead of yellow.I really want to fag them but Im kind of intimidated since ive never fragged before.

Plz. Im open to any information on zoanthid propagation and or any tips on fragging,I want to have some healthy frags to bring to any future swaps.

Let it grow for a while in your tank.

Once you notice good growth, get an xacto blade and cut between polyps and scrape under the zoa as close to the rock as possible. Rinse it in a clean container. Then super glue the base to another rock.

Voila, you're done.

+1. the important thing is to make sure your zoas are doing well so that that when you frag them your chances of survival are greater.

Also make sure you DO NOT HAVE ANY OPEN WOUNDS ON YOUR HANDS, and WEAR EYE PROTECTION, zoa juice is very toxic and you can get infections very easy

Great thread. There are many ways to prop zoas. Scissors and razor work. But the most important part is eye face and skin protection.

Adolfo's the name and reefing is the game.

Zoas don't NEED intense lighting, in fact the best tank for a zoa is a dirty one with med to low light and med flow

Like roc said be careful about getting zoa juiced you could loose your eye. Iv heard of someone's dog getting ahold of 1 polyp and the dog died.

Those are common zoas. $30-40 for a colony of 40+
